The Tiny Seeds has adopted the British National Curriculum and has handpicked intriguing themes in order to meet the standards set for our young children. Children between the ages of 18 months and 5 years follow targets outlined by the Foundation Stage through chosen topics. Children between the ages of 5 and 7 years follow the targets and topics set forth by Key Stage One of the British National Curriculum.
Teaching and learning is created to include all seven learning areas of the British National Curriculum.
1. Literacy
2. Mathematics
3. Understanding the World
4. Expressive Arts and Design
5. Personal, Social and Emotional Development
6. Communication and Language
7. Physical Development
The curriculum has been carefully adapted to work in our hometown (Bangkok, Thailand), to meet the diverse cultures represented at our school and to incorporate a center-based approach which allows for our children to learn while playing. We encourage children to reach their full potential and to bring out their personal characteristics as we see the importance of standing out as an individual in a world of diversity. Learning is modeled through the creative act of making, building, doing and visualising the concepts that are part of the curriculum.
Teachers use our daily assessment checks to gauge understanding and reteach concepts that may be challenging. Each teaching lesson is measured for understanding beginning from our youngest class to our oldest class. Children are exposed to a variety of learning styles in order to understand focus concepts in all subject areas. Each child is assessed at the beginning of each Term in order to track their overall learning path within the academic year. Additionally, we provide Term Reports to families at the end of Terms 1 and 3 to indicate their child’s progress. Our teachers are always available and appointments can be made at any time to discuss any areas of concern.
